Encouraged cross-border collaboration at the national level

The TENTacle project, and results from an interview study accessible in the report “The TEN-T Core Network Corridors – Awareness, expectations and involvement” was presented by Björn Hasselgren, Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), and Maria Öberg, Luleå University of Technology at the VTI Transportforum in Linköping 10th of January 2018.

A question from the audience reinforced the importance of one of the ideas presented in the interview study, a Scandinavian infrastructure commission for cross-border infrastructure planning. The Swedish infrastructure minister Tomas Eneroth was present during the presentation, and was directly encouraged to continue the work for such a planning collaboration among the Nordic countries.

VTI Transportforum, arranged by VTI in Linköping, is the biggest Nordic conference for transport, attracting around 1600 participants. Accessibility and rural transport was this years’ introduction theme.
